Frequently Asked Questions
What are guild membership dues?
Guild membership dues are your monthly contribution to the collective. Like a makerspace, union, or professional guild, members pay dues to fund shared infrastructure, support independent developers, and ensure the platform serves everyone's interests. Your dues give you full membership benefits and the knowledge that you're supporting a community-owned platform.
Why should I pay dues instead of staying on the free tier?
The Apprentice tier is perfect for trying things out, but Member dues unlock unlimited productions, submissions, and team members. Plus, your dues fund platform development and community resources that benefit everyone. Think of it like a gym membership: you could pay per visit, but monthly dues let you use everything and support maintaining the facility we all share.
Can I try before paying dues?
Absolutely! Start as an Apprentice (free). Get full access to Theatre Manager with 1 production and up to 100 submissions. Perfect for testing whether The Guild fits your needs. When you're ready to grow, pay Member dues and unlock unlimited access. No credit card required to start.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes! All memberships are monthly with no long-term contracts. Cancel anytime and you'll drop back to Apprentice membership. You keep all your data and can rejoin whenever you're ready—no penalties, no questions asked. Your data is always yours.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards through Stripe, our secure payment processor. Your payment information is never stored on our servers.
How is this different from a regular subscription?
Great question! Subscriptions make you a customer renting from a vendor. Dues make you a member co-owning a collective. You get voting rights on the roadmap, transparent financials showing where your dues go, and the knowledge that your contribution funds community resources—not investor returns. The Guild is community-owned.
